today is the last day of year 2006... and i went to church again... and as expected, the pastor reminded all of us to look back upon 2006 and to count the blessings that God has bestowed upon us though the year...

and really... looking back at 2006... i can honestly say that it has been the best year out of the 18 that i've spent on earth... so far... early 2006, there's interact... and all the interact club stuff... pretty hard and challenging, but it was really lessons learnt and loads of experience gained...

then there was CCA Open House... when Rosel asked me "what do you all do in interact?" and i replied "well, we interact"... and i still have no idea how that led her to join interact instead of skipping interact... ok, maybe her passion to serve and help others... this event seemed like nothing, but this girl came into my life just like pandora's box... bringing into my life a plethora of experiences and friendships forged...

there was also the much-talked-about interact exco interview... which truly shows things that people do to earn that place as an exco elect...

then somehow, sometime, somewhere, i went for night study with rosel... where i got to know minjia and trey... minjia was interact club too... but i think i really got to know her through rosel... hmmz... weird huh... to think minjia is an exco even!!! a treasurer... and i don't know her that much... lol... but night study was really great... without it, i wouldn't have gotten what i've gotten for prelims and what is to come for the A levels... the time spent studying with rosel and trey was really fruitful... and i recall the labourious attempts to get 4 people to fully occupy the table so that this person cannot sit in... hehehe... rosel, trey and minjia, u ppl get what i mean... oh... and also tiffany and emily too... the people whom i studied with in the day...

but what i would more fondly remember this group of people (rosel, minjia and trey), would be the times we spent at vivocity... the walking around, the talking, the sitting-at-the-grandstand and playing truth or truth, the dinner chats... and for minjia and trey, the sentosa's imbiah thrill!!! you people have brought me knowledge while i'm studying, and fun when it's time for fun... it's you all, who really taught me to work hard and to play hard as well...

and now to my own classmates...

quan you... who has been my "gay" buddy since we both joined interact in march 2005... together, we went for exco interview, we entered the exco, we attended meetings, we went khao lak, we slept together on the same bed, and on the last night, slept together in the same room with pavin, wendy and shuling... 3 guys, 2 gals in the same room asleep... what an adventure... lol... and for the various outings to so many places... and also in school when we talked about everything... and quan you trying very hard to get me to do pullups when i am totally unmotivated to do so... and we even went kayaking together... with his darling nonetheless, but well we attended the class together... 2006 has really been a great year with you around... to teach me chemistry, maths and physics... and the many lessons of life...

together with yanyi and weiyu, these three people and i formed a four-people clique who really conquered everything under the sun... i'll always remember the times i chatted on the phone with yanyi and weiyu for hours... talking from one issue to another... and the fun we had in class... and outside school... the times spent studying in class (and when yanyi and qiu sat behind and made funny noises)... all of you, have made my life colourful... with more colours than the rainbow has ever displayed...

and jesse and eric too... the people who sat on my left (eric) and right (jesse)... i'll remember eric the monkey... and jesse with all the LAN gaming and pool... remember watching tom and jerry right under fahy's nose... and playing Worms with XingLoong's handphone during fahy's, thomas', B.Yeong's and TanCP's lessons... lol... what an adventure we have in class everyday... the fun we had can never be replicated...

2006 has been fun, and blessed too... i remember the many times i fell sick... and all it took was a simple and heartfelt prayer for the sickness to go away... and also my prelims and A levels... when i prayed the night before and before the exams itself... and god blessed me with great sleep and also peace and calmness during the exams... even right from the start, god blessed me with the exco position of an international understanding director of the cjc interact club... that itself was one of the greatest gift... through this position, i got to know many people like Rotarian Jimmy Ooi, Rotarian Calvin Huang... and through them, i've met SCDF's Chief, the Commander of the Royal Thai Army, the Royal Advisor to the Thai King, and many others... through rotary club, i got involved with tsunami rebuilding efforts... what a blessing it is... for me to be able to participate in a disaster response team in aid of victims of one of the worst disasters happened to modern mankind... and more so, the lessons learnt when i led my team to organise the Batam Overseas Community Involvement Project... all these would not be possible if i had been the president, secretary, treasurer, or any other positions in any other club... the international understanding director is the most unique position in all CCAs... and i've been chosen for that... what a blessing, indeed... and of course, many other blessings which has been granted onto me... Lord, i thank you for them..
