gosh... i really ate toooooooo much during chinese new year... i'm actually feeling lethargic enough to feel like not blogging... ah...

hmmm... body over mind... nahz... mind over body...

Chinese New Year... always a very happy time for everyone... get angbaos, meet relatives, catch up on stuff that we had missed out on for the past year... yeah man... so cool and exciting... not for me...

my relatives live far far away from me... a group of them in Batam, another in Bintan, some in Jakarta, others in Bandung (NOT the drink), some in Medan... and only two families reside in Singapore... and they happen to be away on holiday... or rather, they went back to Indonesia to celebrate... while me, this NS guy, can't leave Singapore without too much of a hassle... argh...

so, chinese new year for me is time with my parents... pretty much like honeymoon for them... except that there's a huge bright SUN (as in son) somewhere near the moon...

and it's really boring and irritating because everyone else is busy going around while we stay at home all day, watching videos and really slacking around... we don't subscribe to Starhub Cable TV because we don't have time for them... so we suffer when we are confined at home...

and what's worse, is mealtime... because just about every chinese restaurant / coffeeshop is closed... so our options get massively reduced to that few locations and choices... either fast food or to dine at geylang serai (the food centre)...

pretty interesting how a person experiencing a boring chinese new year is telling a tale of how boring it can be huh... [it's two times the "boring" and only one times the "interesting"]...

i seriously long to go to Bintan, or Tanjung Pinang to be precise... i want to go back to my granny's kampong where i can run about in 5 storey buildings all owned by my family... where i can shout out of the window and have my own relatives reply me from across the street... i want to go to that village over the mountain and catch the chickens and to bring them back and cook them and eat them on the spot (though it's quite cruel, but the meat is really great)... i want to swim in that river and catch those crabs and fishes... that is what Chinese New Year would be if i can go to Tanjung Pinang, my grandma's hometown... humph... memories it has been, memories it will be...

i miss my cousins... A LOT...
