i've already wrote a post yesterday about how boring Chinese New Year is... let me now continue on how useless Chinese New Year can get... well, for me at least...
hmmmz... ok, so for me, i stay at home all day... some call it stoning, but i would put it as rotting... there's a difference... stones stay the same no matter how long time has passed... geologists might argue that stones get eroded over time, but we're talking about a time frame of say 5 days... and to make it more convincing, let's just say a stone in my room (the only air movement is from the aircon, so please approach me if you still believe the stone can erode in my room)... rotting on the other hand refers that i am dying (since only dying/dead organic matter can rot)... and i certainly am dying because every breathe i take means i'm one breathe closer to death... and since i'm not doing anything useful with that one breathe, i'm definitely rotting away... in fact, this whole post is pure rot (in that sense)...
ok, some "logic"...
and rotting is one thing, it's the negative effect(s) that come with Chinese New Year that makes it so useless...
ok, when you are bored at home, you only do two things... you either eat or watch TV/videos/movies... and neither are good (no gray shades about that)... both allows your muscles to degrade itself to a much inferior level, either me adding overall body mass or reducing muscle mass...
and the motivation to study and to flex the grey matter up in my skull has been reduced to zilch since november 17, 2006 (last day of A levels)... and i don't fancy computer games now; they take up too much time, and leave me tired and feeling empty after each game... and of course, leave me more lethargic than when i began with...
and i have miraculously done both simultaneously during this Chinese New Year... ok, may i present a list...
- 2 kg Bak Kwa
- 2 dozen Mandarin Oranges
- 3 containers of Pineapple Tarts
- 2 packets of Shrimp Rolls
- 1 packet of Rice Crackers (12s)
- 1 container of pistachios (500g)
- countless servings of melon seeds (in both the original flavour and the green tea ones)
impressive??? i think that can last a family a 10 through chinese new year... guess what, my family of 3 ate them all up over the past 4 days... and let me just add that my mum simply samples a little here and there... so there's basically only two mouths to dump these junk in... one of those mouths belong to yours truly... argh...
2kg of Bak Kwa... that is sinful manz... ultimate!!! oh and i haven't blogged that we went to bugis for steamboat last night... so, being mindful that it's a BUFFET, we ate as if it were the leftovers from Africa (i.e. eat as much as possible).... and for dinner on Chinese New Year day, we ordered pizza from pizza hut... the festive meal thingy (for 5-8 pax)... and the three of us devoured all that... and now, i'm absolutely sure that i gained back what i have lost during the 2 months of BMT i've been through... no doubts about that manz...
returning to tekong at 5:55pm... hmmz... i don't know manz... i guess it's this long long long break, that really makes me want to get that "attend C" (or known as MC for the layman)... so that i can stay out longer back in mainland... even though i know that this time i'll only be there for 3 days... and i'll be back again, but... haix... just sooooo different now... or maybe it's for the better... POP in 1 months' time... now we're busy making our boots shine... i'm really looking forward to that parade.. where we can kiss tekong goodbye... but i think i'll really miss my buddies in there too... to think that over these past 10 weeks, we've grown so much closer to one another... so much so that sometimes i really wish to get posted to the same unit as them... hmmz... i have 1 more month with them... 21st March 2006... Passing Out Parade... 1 month and 1 day from now... i'm waiting for that day to come... the last time i'm taking the Penguin Ferry called Penguin Chawan, or Penguin Tekong, or Penguin Ubin, or Penguin Empress... haha... those are names of the ferry... and i think i saw them all already... Penguin Chawan and Pengiun Tekong are the two loyal ferries that we always took to and fro tekong... but once in a while we see Pengiun Ubin, the two-hulled catamaran that sorts of shrouds us with thoughts that we're taking a ride to Bintan resort... momentarily that is... till we see the bluish green roof that says "P. TEKONG"... "It's not what you leave behind, it's what you'll gain in the days ahead" - BMT...
