just came back home from Kaki Bukit camp... it was yet another week of fun and adventure... and today, when i say adventure, it really is... wahahaha...
okok, so i booked in last sunday at 9:30PM... really sad cos otherwise i could have went out with my friends.. but anyway, booking in to sembawang camp is no longer as dreadful as booking in to tekong... firstly because it's on mainland singapore (altho i believe the geographic distance from my house is further compared tekong, but at least we don't have to take a ferry over and really being "overseas")... and then i really love driving... ok, at least for the landrover...
this week we mainly had circuit assessment, followed by public road driving from thursday onwards... thursday we went to pasir ris (yepx, the assembly point for NS-men going to tekong)... friday, tampines (passed by temasek poly, one of the schools of my choice should my O level score be worse); and today, bedok (yepx, the bedok swimming complex)... and the level of difficulty increases from "light" traffic in pasir ris to "moderate" traffic in tampines to "heavy" traffic in bedok... and it really is heavy... i had great difficulty changing lanes when the need arises and having to juggle monitoring my speed, my left mirror, my right mirror, my rear view mirror, and my front is a little overwhelming... especially when i stopped the rover, it's simply a hazard to start moving again because the other cars will simply NOT give way to a vehicle flying the ugly "L" plate... but i really enjoyed it because every road i turned to, it brings back memories of being "HOME", to familiar ground even though i am wearing that green army uniform... this is indeed one of the perks of being a driver, civilisation... wahahaha...
and of course we have that horrible driver training simulation system thingy that causes motion sickness in nearly everybody... haha... and this week we went onto the 3-tonner simulation... and it was horrible... the inside has almost as much control panels and gauges as a aircraft... ok, it's an exaggeration, but it really is ALOT... 3 large gauges and 6 small ones if i'm not wrong... and about 15 switches... and about 15 light signals... something like that... ah... i'll be driving that monster soon, and it really is a monster...
and finally, my prized possession: the provisional driving licence... for the time being, before i get my actual driving licence... wahahaha...
