today is the 5 tonner cross country training... it's super fun because we get to drive the big truck around uneven grounds WITH AIRCON!!! wahahaa... with air con, i would do anithing with it manz... plus it's quite powerful so it's really quite enjoyable driving in it... an hour of driving felt like 15 minutes... lolx...
but while my buddy was driving, i was talking to my instructor about some stuff... and what he said really prompted me to think more about it... in brief, he mentioned that "to get someone to listen to you, you need to know the key to that person's heart"... he related it to his job scope - to teach us trainees how to drive... but for some people, they simply can't be bothered to learn because they already hold a licence outside, for example.. so the instructor has to talk to them and find out what they have interest in, and "pretend" to have a common interest, and hence get him to talk and cooperate... and even better still, he related it to preaching... as in religion... he told me about how once this christian wanted to preach to him about Jesus... but totally rattled on about the saving grace of god, etc, until he got bored because he didn't feel connected to the conversation at all... then he shared that it would be much more effective if that christian were to do his research about the other religions too... to know their strengths and weakness, and why people believe in that religion... and hence the person's very own religion can be a topic to connect both people together and hence allows the preacher to communicate to the other person with that person's fullest attention...
and it really made me wonder... alot... my instructor, being a buddhist (and also commits himself to many other gods and "thailand gods"), can give comments to improve our christian organisation... and why are we so deaf and dumb to such constructive criticisms... i wonder...
