today is LCP Chow's cremation ceremony... and for that, i went to camp slightly later... at 10am... where we collected the marshaller gloves and jacket and went for lunch at 10:30am... which is my 3rd meal already... i had breakfast at home before i came, then went to Sembawang Camp canteen with Joseph for my 2nd breakfast... and my 3rd meal is at 10:30am... goodness la... getting fat fast... wahahaha...
then we left for Mandai Crematorium... and slacked mentally prepared ourselves there till 1pm where we were dispatched to our posts... and from 1pm till 2pm, we simply waited... at 2:25pm, the hearse arrived as schedule, and we all went to our positions as traffic marshalls...
and we watched as the guards of honour removed the coffin from the hearse and loaded it onto a gun towed behind a rover (which some of us believe is the president's rover)... then they started their slow march towards the cremation hall at service hall 1...
and basically, that's all... a very short "parade", but otherwise quite grand... other service halls had at least 3 cremations a day, and LCP Chow's cremation hall merely had him alone for the day... MINDEF really caters alot to such events, as it should have la...
after that, we slacked rested for a while before leaving the place to return to Sembawang Camp and booking out almost immediately from there...
[ok, rosel says i can't say that i slacked there... so we prepared ourselves for the event / parade mentally...]
