i'm back from tekong!!! wahahaha... reminds me of about half a year ago, when i said that every friday night.. wahahaha... but this time it's different... because i'm back to tekong to have fun... and i did...
from wednesday morning, we set off from Sembawang Camp super early to meet up with our logistics (maintenance) counterparts and to take the first ferry to tekong at 6:30am... then we reached SanYongKong camp at around 9am... and from there we slacked / sleeped till 12noon for lunch... after that was introduction to our group members via some ice-breakers... it's really really fun because for the very first time, there's ice-breakers in the army!!! it's really like scout camp la!!! or maybe better... and the games are actually not bad la... i'm totally surprised... and after that, was slack again... till our BBQ dinner... with some colonel (reminds me of the colonel who bakes once-great chickens - i.e. that old man of KFC) who is the commander of Army Logistics Training Inititute... he so-called came to show us that we're commanders of men and so should take pride in it... but lolx, it doesn't really matter does it... and we had media crew too... from the army news of course, never mediacorp or channelnewsasia... but well, it's the first time such a "camp" was organised... and the first time a cononel came to camp with us... so it's a pleasure, delight, and an interesting experience...
next day we just went about tekong like some amazing race (except that the rule was "no running")... well, we're army logistics; we take things at our own time, own target, own pace... wahahaha!!! so it's fun... completing stations and playing more games... i really couldn't believe that i was in army, and not some JC or Poly orientation camp... ok la, we get to throw smoke grenades and thunderflashes around... but that's probably the only army thing that was involved in the camp... lolx...
and well, the 3rd day, we're back already...
and as i recalled monday and tuesday, it brought much greater pleasure... wahahaha... monday was the in-camp training, but tuesday was the underslung itself... i was one of the lucky few who got the chance to be within arms reach under the belly of a hovering superpuma helicopter... and it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience... cos it's part of our training to learn how to hook up a vehicle to a helicoptor, and so, the hooking up of a landrover to the superpuma... and it was very fun... as we stood on the bonnet of the landrover, and having the superpuma approach, I GOT BLOWN OFF!!! it's like !@#$!@#$!@#... really... i had never ever thought that i can be blown away by any way, but it did!!! plus i was holding on to the windscreen of the landrover, yet i'm blown off... it's really -.-""""!!!!!... hahaha... but well, thankfully it was just off-balance, but not off the whole rover... i was sure if the latter happened i would have flown at least 30 metres away... but that just goes to show how strong the wind is... as one of my fellow trainees said, it's the world's largest fan you will probably experience in your lifetime... wahahaha... but it's nice really... i'm very blessed... really...
