i'm so happy now!!! one fieldcamp over!!! last one to go for my course... actually, we all thought that the recently-completed one was the last one... till the instructors told us that we have one more next next week, probably from wednesday to thursday (2D1N)... so our moods were sort of dampened... but the other field camp would emphasize much more on a whole combat support area, whereas this field camp merely focuses on the vehicular deployment sector...
ok, so monday i went back... did nothing much... just slacking around because i did not hold any special appointment for that day... so i just relaxed around and helped those who needed help... but otherwise monday has been simply slack slack slack.. but although slack as it has been, we slept quite late that day... because almost everything was dragging here and there, and we were waiting for the briefing by the appointment holders but it did not come... so after a while we went back to our bunks to sleep... and that's the great thing about being in logistics.. we can always just go back to our bunk to relax when no instruction is given... if we were to do it in BMT, i'm quite sure hell would fall down on us in no time... lolx...
and tuesday we woke up quite early... ate breakfast, draw our weapons, get everything prepared, and get set to move off... once again, it was nothing much... just follow instructions and let the appointment holders do their magic... but apparently no magic occurred la... we were very very very late... but well, it's their first time... so it wasn't that bad la... we then left for Jln Lam San, our field camp site... once we reached there, we entered the "holding area", where we regrouped and proceeded on to the deployment ground... there, somehow, i ended up with Faridah (one of the two female supply supervisors in the course)... she has to be attached to someone with a rifle because she hasn't gone through the M16 orientation yet... so somehow she went with me... and so the both of us sat around [we were supposed to be "guarding" against enemy attacks] and had a nice time chatting... and it was then i realised i was really blessed.. because God took care of me right into my NS career... it's like i felt that army is a rather superficial place with all guys and who mainly can't be bothered about anything... and he put this girl here (ok, for 2 days during fieldcamp at least; otherwise she's a supply supervisor and we rarely meet)... lolx... that's why i'm not complaining about this field camp... wahahaha... but please don't for a second think that there's something going on... because really, she's just my friend... and i really really really find it more interesting to talk to girls... lolx... hmmm... ok, maybe not... anyway... after we got ourselves deployed, we basically slacked in our vehicles all day long... doing nothing and after that, sleep...
next morning, we got "attacked" by artillery... so we quickly packed up and left, heading back to our holding area before the appointment holders left for recce... and so, Faridah and i were left alone again for some chat... lolx... but halfway through she has to leave because she was the CQ and so i was alone from then on... and deciding i shall not just sit there and let time fly by, i decided to have my own all-natural lab test... hmm... ok, i took out a sweet, suckled it for a while and put it some distance in front of me and observed how ants reacted to it... and really, it's very very very entertaining... because i placed it on a leaf in a area where there are totally no ants around... but within a minute, a few of them came roaming about... and when the first one came, it approached little by little... and when it first "contacted' the sweet, it quickly touched and ran away... and gradually staying closer and closer, till it eventually just stood beside it and "eat" it... and when it "confirms" that it's "edible", it goes around the region (quite a small area) to look for other ants... but the one i noticed in particular couldn't find any, so it ended up going back to eat on it's own... and soon more and more ants joined... then, soon, these really huge ants came... and they tried to move it, but they couldn't... but the most interesting thing is that they actually let the smaller ants eat up till it became smaller, then they got ALL the ants to move it together.. really... i have no idea how, but i can see that it used it's large jaws to bite and then all the smaller ants just crowded around in the direction the "food" is moving and pulled it that way... and in the process, several ants literally got crushed... and yep, they managed to move it... but i was totally surprised that the ants themselves can get crushed... and yep, that's about all that's interesting about my that little experiment... but the bad news is that, in the process, i attracted soooo many ants that some actually crawled onto me!!! gRRRR... it's just like winnie the pooh eating honey and getting bitten by the bees... yepx, so here i am learning something interesting, and there i am laughing at my own stupidity... lolx...
then, we were called to reassemble and to proceed over to our second deployment ground... and soon after we reached there, i was called up to inform me of my appointment - Operation Specialist... tadaaa!!! and so, i had to work with my "platoon sergeant" and move the entire troop back to Sembawang camp... and we had 30 minutes to plan... and that was when all the hell began... haha... but ok la... it was done, and we had some delays... but we managed to get back to sembawang camp on time (although it was about 11:30PM then already)... haha... because we had to clear our weapons and to declare that we did not try to smuggle any bullet out of the exercise area... hahaha... and then we had to be individually searched though by the instructors... lolx... but what i hated most then was the people... because we are all tired, they simply refuses to cooperate... giving them instructions is just like speaking to a wall... except that speaking to a wall you hear echo sometimes... for them, no... after some time i just gave up and let them be... because they are really too tired and it's really nothing very important than just useless army protocols which i believe could be ignored too... ahhha... and after settling some admin stuff, we went back to bunk, showered, and slept...
today, we cleaned up after the mess the exercise left behind... all the vehicles, and all the equipment used.. for me, i was blessed with simply the cleaning of weapons... so i just sat there and took 5 rifles to clean... haha... the others had to wash the vehicles, and got themselves all sweaty and wet... hahaha... then after lunch, we had our final debrief become being dismissed back home!!! wahahaha... it was my happiest moment manz!!! hahaha...
