didn't attend church service today... not because i didn't want to... i left my house on time, the bus came on time... just that in between, it got stuck in a terrible traffic jam... it was so bad, i was still at beach road at 12:15pm... and usually i reach church at 11:10am... and i think we entered beach road at 10:50... goes to show how bad the jam is... and all these thanks to some run [iron man thingy], and some mass-cycling event...

one, the organisers could have a trillion other places to run and cycle than in the city area on a weekend... east coast park, west coast, pasir ris, whereever!!! but well, the blame is not largely theirs, but i would say, largely those of the highly inefficient public transport system in singapore... namely, the buses...

they know that there will be such events, and so they diverted their bus routes [smart move], all to one small road [super duper dumb move]... so much so that there is one full lane occupied by buses... the least they can do, is to divert different bus services to ply by different routes so that it won't get too congested at one...

and our nice government is trying to encourage people to take public transport, by increasing taxes, increasing ERP gantries and operational timings... and i really wonder where all these money goes to??? i wonder whether they can try to pass on these monetary gains to the public transport companies to pull up their socks and really get the system going... and they can really start by making bus [and MRT] fares cheaper... and in fact, these companies are already making big bucks, why not pass off their savings to the public???

yes, i'm irritated... very irritated...
