i just received a letter from NUS informing me that i can reapply for courses in NUS 3 days after the A level results are received... and that really set me thinking, and thinking, and thinking... many people are telling me to apply for Law (because some guy from CJC got into Law with A B C grades, and i did better so i should be able to get in)... and on top of that, if it's not successful, i'll still be able to remain in the Faculty of Science... it's really a win-win situation... but now i'm left with myself thinking about whether i really wish to pursue a further education in Law, or not... i like arguing, and debating (i think i'm reasonably good at it) ; i like researching (and i'm quite good at it too); i like inspecting the standard methods and theories and disproving them one by one; i like doing things that are special... but then again, i don't really like the Singapore Law (the judicial and political system of it); but i desperately want to learn the skills of debating, arguing and getting my point across... i want to speak in a room where everyone else listens, then somebody who has a different opinion raises his issues, and i will be able to counter that argument in the most creative way... I want Law as a humanities subject, an art of expression and of making someone else believe in what you believe... but we all know that it's not the case like that... the Law schools churn out high-quality educated civil servants who slog hard daily to protect the interests of the nation... i want to be independent, and i don't want to serve anybody who i do not believe in... or maybe i'll just go ahead with science and then go on to do Law overseas... i don't know.. i have quite a long time to slowly decide...

and i'm looking at the new SMU's accelerated one-year MBA programme... a Masters in Business Administration within a year... it really fits very nicely into my dream of starting my own line of products... my dream of becoming the next steve jobs... plus i'll get to skip the first 5 years of reservist (assuming i go on to do a a 4-year Honest degree in Science, and then another year doing Masters in Business Administration)... i'll keep that in mind...
