today i went back to SAFTI MI to finish editing the National Day Awards Investiture video... and it was quite havoc, because i left my uniform in camp... and so i realised that i do not have my belt, and baret (cap)... so i ended up using my own belt and dashing into SAFTI without my baret... and better still, i'm carrying CDs and DVDs and tapes without Letter of Authority from SAFTI... so on my way there i was thinking whether i should go to the guardroom and exchange for a camp pass (and they'll surely ask me to put on my baret), or to just take the shuttle bus (and they'll check my bag, and might also end up asking me to go to the guard room to get a camp pass)... and i eventually decided to take the risk and to show the guards my HQ Transport camp pass, and to put my water bottle on top of my DVDs and CDs and tapes and hope that they do not see it... and they really didn't... i got pass the camp pass check, and also the bag check... well done manz!!!
and then was editing... i got it all up to gear and editing in full swing... editing the video clips, adjusting the sounds, and adding in a background sound... and then i went for lunch to let the videos render... and guess what, it took about 4 hours for it to render... 4 hours!!! on the extremely high-end mutiple-processor xeon-class CPU... so i had lunch, went back to sleep for 2 hours, and went back down for tea break, and came back up just in time for completion... then was transcoding for the DVD, another hour... and finally burning the DVDs themselves... in the end, the whole process took the full duration from 8am till 5:15pm... plus about 5 hours of digitising on 9th January... that made it a full 14 hours and 15 minutes of editing and rendering...
but it was worthed it, and i enjoyed it... and i really can't believe that minjia is actually apply for the job that i dreamed of having when i ORD from the army... mediacorp video editer... ok, i didn't exactly dream of mediacorp, but i would love to be able to edit videos during my free time... because it's what i like to do...
