my job was fun... it was interesting, and doing stuff that i liked... the monthly CTOC is one of the highest-key events that the entire transport formation goes through... the conference lasts from anything from 6 hours to over 10 hours... and it takes at least 2 weeks to prepare for it... and i'm solely in charge of coming out with one item, out of about 9 items... and let's just say that the other eight items are prepared by people with ranks not below Majors...
yes, it WAS fun... but after doing it for so long, it's getting so repetitive, and i'm so tired of getting all the numbers and crunching it into OpenOffice Calc to come out with over 60 slides of graphs, tables and what-not... and it's not just CTOC...
it's the little extra work here and there... like doing audit spot-checks on the individual transport lines... like preparing for mobilisation, like making sure that the transport system works well, like answering phone calls from people with ranks as low as recruit to certain generals...
then came guard duty, that takes up more than a quarter of my working time... so looking back, i need more than 2 weeks a month to prepare for CTOC, and i have slightly over a week's guard duty per month... i'm basically stretched to work all day... and i'm being paid a miserable 400 bucks a month... and rosel says that it's 79 cents per hour.. foreign nationals working at construction sites in singapore get at least 2 dollars an hour??? and somewhere in the newspaper states that national wages are averaged at 7 dollars in hour??? i'm getting about 10%... oh yeah manz...
but on a better note, i'm promoted to lance corporal (i have no idea since when, but i just realised it today)... i'm still missing my sergeant rank because of IPPT... and because of that i have to do guard duty... this is such nonsense!!! but thankfully we can swap duties, so i don't do sunday duties... thankfully, because i really need my weekly dose of gospel... i'll get insane in camp slogging like mad, and knowing that i don't get paid as much as i should...
