ok, i haven't been blogging for very very very long... and i can't really remember much about the things that happened for the past week already... so i'll just try to recall, if not, too bad then...
Last wednesday, i went out for dinner with rosel and ado at Sketches at bugis... and i "designed" my own pasta... it was the tri-coloured fuscilli and the cheese-stuffed pasta (rosel says it's called "raviolli"); with all the meat fillings and onions... it was the best pasta i had, all time... it tasted a bit like carbonara, except that there's way more meat, and much better than carbonara...
and i spent valentine's day in camp!!! doing guard duty... but since everyone else is attached, and since i'm one of the few who are still warming the bench and waiting for a suitable lady to walk by, i'd do my friends a favour a let them enjoy the night out with their beloved... i eventually spent the night with the duty officer, CPT Elizabeth; lamenting about spending valentine's day in camp...
tuesday and wednesday i went for the Ford Everest Operational Utility Vehicle familiarization driving at Sembawang camp.. because we're gonna introduce to the public about this all-new "oh-so-wonderful" vehicle that the army just spent millions of dollars on... well, there's VERY POWERFUL air-con, with a 3-liter diesel engine, with a modified weight of 2-tonnes (an average vehicle like that would weigh about a ton), and the transponder (aka 3rd Generation SWD, or the device that tracks driver speeding)... minus the last two, it would make a great vehicle to buy for personal use... it's been a whole 6 months since i last "officially" drove (minus the illegal driving on my friend's vehicles).. but after a while i re-discovered my passion for driving... and since the transport formation RSM is with us, and gave us permission to speed (in the name of testing the vehicle) ; i drove the vehicle at 80kmph (the maximum legally permissible speed is 50kmph).. driving rocks!!!
and i'm back to the office on thursday... with pretty much nothing to do, and spending quite a lot of time chatting with my bosses... but just when i am about to leave, DyCTO asked me to check on the Ford Ambulance standby status... so... instead of dismissal at 5:30pm, i left at 7:30pm (partly because DyCTO and i were waiting for the results of the Youth Olympic Games)...
and speaking about the YOG... i'm really glad we've won... it's one of the very few times that i actually shouted out "yeah!!!" in office... and i'm not alone... but it'll be getting more and more busy already... there are already a few officers in HQ Transport under the YOG project team.. after winning the bid, i'm sure they'll be busy recruiting more... but it's good... with 5,000 people coming to singapore, i'm sure everything would improve.. the public transport system would have to be improved, so will the roads, and everything else... when IMF/WorldBank came, they upgraded so much... when YOG comes, i'm sure it wouldn't be even be slightly wane in comparision...
today's MSER (Main supply and evacuation run)... at CSSCOM at Kranji camp... i set my alarm clock at 3:55am, and i woke up at 5:10am... and i rushed all the way down to where my friend would pick me up and found out that everyone's late... eventually he came, and we rushed through all the expressways at 120kmph, at least; 140kmph max... it was a nice ride, and feeling like initial D or some racing movie... it's the first time i liked putting on the seatbelt... wahahaha... and oh, we ended at 10:30am... and it's the day off for us... wheeee....
so that's basically the past week... i'll be looking forward to more of such weeks ahead... lolx...
