i love the way cashiers stare at me when i tell them that i'll be paying for purchases using my fairprice plus card..
to quote an example.. today, i went to ntuc to shop for about $100 worth of groceries.. then i brought it to the cashier.. then i passed her my fairprice plus card..
she swiped it for linkpoints, then told me "sir would you like to pay by NETS or VISA???"
then i said "erm, linkpoints."
the moment came, of utter disbelief and the kind of "stop pranking me, i've worked in NTUC long enough to know that no one has $100 worth of linkpoints in their card" look..
but out of courtesy, she said "oookkkaaayyyy, let me check how much linkpoints you have in your card first..."
i gave her a smug look when she saw the figure (sorry, i really couldn't resist)..
"you really shop alot, sir"... from that moment on, she treated me like a king.. "is there anything else that you need??" "please check your receipt before you leave" "have a nice day sir"..
they normally don't give this 20-year old an extra glance (not that i want glances from these aunties).. but ya, people are practical..
i hope my linkpoints last long..
