back from tekong again.... and this symbolises the end of week 5 of 15 in tekong... i'm officially 33.3% done!!! haha... and from what the sergeants say, the training usually ends mid February... so, i guess i'm left with a month of training in tekong... hehehe...

well, this week has been busy... partly due to guard duty, because we had to book on the night we booked out; 1 day earlier than the others... but it was worth it, because we were the first to patrol tekong with live rounds... hehehe... and doing it together with chin wern (my buddy), i even cooler because we can talk and hence not feel the impact of walking down tekong highway in the middle of the night...

also because the week is literally jam-packed with activities... we had drill, basic close combat training, individual field craft lessons, etc... and we didn't have an hour or two between them... so we were literally rushing here and there, and getting back to our bunks tired and ready to doze off...

but i remember what 2LT Koh said to us... about being a driver... if we are gonna spend / waste these two years in army driving a truck down the same road, might as well spend it learning new stuff and enriching ourselves with experiences that we cannot find elsewhere... it really reflects my sentiments exactly... i really thought coming to NS was a total waste of time, a stoppage of my studies and a lethal interruption to my education... but there is really nothing i can do about it... so, since i am already in the system, might as well make full use of it and gain something at the end of it.. that is and will be my motivation to strive for OCS... because it is unique, and well... to lead, to excel, to overcome...
