came back from tekong at 10:45am... so i rushed home, bathed, changed, and rushed to NUS for their open house... and incredibly, i made it for the Faculty of Science talks at 12 noon... hehehe...

although i heard the same talk in CJC before, it's an eye opener for me because i never thought i would qualify for it in CJ so i couldn't be bothered during the talks at CJ... lol... then i went for the engineering talks... which was also something i'm interested in...

soon, jesse and xuecong arrived so we met up... but they went to the exhibition first while i went for the office of admissions talk... after the talk, i joined them at the exhibitions... but after a while we left for SMU...

i really had no idea why i left NUS for SMU... i had zero intentions of going to that university... but nonetheless, i went... and my intentions of going to SMU changed... from zero to negative... first, they "smartly" put their open house poster on the library building so we went there to realise that the open house is at the administration building... then when we reached, the exhibition was so small-scale that we finished asking questions in 10 minutes (or less)... so jesse and i went outside to wait for xuecong and his china friend...

but after a while, our intentions of going to SMU became clear... POOL... hahahaha... so, after having dinner at subway, we headed for pool at Paradiz snookerium... but... it was full... so we went to play LAN... haha... Battlefield 2... haven't played that game for a long time... but it was quite fun... because the systems don't lag... when i last played that game at a LAN shop, it lagged so i had a very very very bad impression of it.. this time it didn't and i really enjoyed it...

ok... so that was about all that happened today... how bout army life? hmmmz... it's still super duper slack...

ok, we had our final 24km route march on tuesday... having returned after the 16km route march with blisters and abrasions, we got ourselves armed with double insoles and wore 2-4 pairs of socks... for me, i decided to get a little kiasu... so i had double insole with 3 pairs of socks... hahaha... so wearing the boots felt like having my feet wrapped in sponge... warm, but comfy...

but i think i made the right choice... after 12km, when people are complaining about blisters, fatigue and all that stuff... i felt ready to run... lol... and i came back from 24km ready to walk another 10km or so (if the incentive is there la... i am not dumb enough to walk for fun)... lol...

oh, before that, we had our drill competition... haha... it was quite a sad story actually.. because we trained hard for it, but one joker screwed it all up... i didn't see the incident because i was at the left side while the culprit was the right marker, but i know that when the command "ke-kanan-bu-sing" was given, he turned left... for those who dunnoe, ke-kanan means turn to the right, and he turned left... so... needless to say, it was screwed up... but we actually got 4th... not that impressive out of 10, but with such a screwup and getting 4th, it was quite good... i tink...

then we had CO parade, games day and recruit's evening on friday... it was a fun-filled, and enjoyable day... for games day, i took part in "survivor shelter", which is to build the SAF tentage within the shortest time... it was another screwup, but this we had much less expectation because it was my 3rd time building it, and our 2nd day doing it... instead of building one "roof" we had 2... thanks to a blur guy who simply forgot what he's supposed to do... but eventually we did it, and well, just glad that i enjoyed myself for this game... and learnt how to build it... just in case i need the skills in the unit i'm posted to...

recruit's evening was even better... we had performances by the various companies and then performance by SAF Music and Drama company... altho the rock music at the end brought everybody to ecstasy, i personally felt that the ballet, dance and other performance at the beginning was much much much nicer... haha... talking about "high" culture and "pop" culture... (recalls the lecture by David Laurence Fahy)... lol... but well... it was really nice... and for once i thought the indian dance was actually nice... well, that's because SAF MDC combined the indian dance with a bit of western style aka bollywood style... so it's quite entertaining...

well, i guess that's about all there is... kinda late, and tired thanks to all that info absorbed... and i haven't attended lectures for months... hahaha... nitez to all...
