finally back from my driving course... 4 days of driving lessons, and it was pure cool-ness!!! i finally realised the joy and excitement in driving a vehicle... wahahaha...
ok, first day when we got there it was just introduction... to the land rover where my instructor, NeoTB, showed us the parts and where needs to be checked before driving off... then we got to start the engine and play with the gear system... then we had a computer lesson on the land rover itself and how to drive it... the next day, we went for the driver training simulation system (DTSS)... well, the so-called state-of-the-art driving simulation system that mimics the real land rover... but... as you know, SAF = system always faulty... there is a time lag of 1-3 seconds between the time you step the accelerator and the time the vehicle actually appears to move... lol... and yepx, it's supported by hydraulics so you can actually feel it moving... after some time in that time, you'll actually feel giddy thanks to the time lag... "state-of-the-art" huh... lol... but it was fun la... then we had highway code lessons... and it's pure crapness because we have to achieve 90% to pass... gRRR... 45/50... i don't think i ever got that mark before since primary school larz...
on wednesday morning, we had a small practice on the highway code questions... and in the afternoon, we went to the circuit for our first hands-on driving... and it was fun!!! ok la.. first time, quite nervous etc... and i wasn't exactly expecting to drive that thing yet... maybe on the engine, change gear, etc... but within 5 minutes, i was driving it already... lol... but it was quite fun... by the end of it, i learnt how to change to gear 2 already...
thursday, even better... we had our circuit in the morning... and it rocks big time because i got a temporary instructor to take me, so he didn't really care about how i drove... and so, i managed to get the rover to gear 4 within a circuit... lol!!! pretty cool eh... and i remember turning a sharp bend at 30kmph... and for once, i feel myself leaning against the door when i turned... pretty nice experience... altho i got myself scolded for it afterwards... hahaha... "benjamin, press the brake when you turn!!!"... wahahaha... it was a blessing really, because all my friends maxed out at gear 3 and that's supposedly the limit for circuits.. and i went to gear 4, that's quite cool... but in the afternoon, we went for DTSS again... and it sucks... because everyone else turned off the "motion" but i smartly didn't... and we went upslope, jam braked, went through the crank course, etc and i had the stupid "motion" on.. when it all ended, i felt super dizzy larz... thanks to the time lag in the machine... crappz...
but after that, we booked out... so happy... hahaha... so now i'm back at home again... first time since sunday...
