everything from MOE follows the Normal distribution curve, the bell curve... so technically, if we add in more people, more people would do well even though the percentage that actually does well decreases... why do i say that??? the guy that i'm teaching now, an Additional Maths student, just made me a very interesting and thought-inspiring statement: "huh??? zero times anything is zero???"... and so i was -.-""""" "erm ya, anything multiplied by zero is equal to zero"...

and it's not that his school pushes for EVERYONE to take A maths and so he happens to be one of the not-so-good students... but he told me that about half of his school is offered A maths, and so, he's the top 50% for maths, generally... and he's telling me he didn't know that anything multiplied by zero is zero... therefore i think i can safely conclude that schools are really lowering their standards so that they can boast of higher absolute numerical figures of GCE 'O' Level A Maths distinctions...
